Experience some of Australia’s most popular wildlife. A highlight for visitors at Koala Gardens is the unique opportunity to hand feed tame kangaroos and wallabies.

At Birdworld, immerse yourself with the birds in their beautiful rainforest habitat. Flying around you are species from the vanishing rainforests of the world, including some of Australia’s most precious and beautiful birds. There are brilliant Amazonian macaws, the endangered and stately cassowary, cheeky rainbow lorikeets, galahs, cockatoos and many more. Don’t be surprised to find a feathered friend taking a ride on your shoulder.

    Souvenir koala Patting photo available for additional cost. (subject to Availability)
    Birdfeed at Birdworld Kuranda available for an additional cost on arrival.

    Parks are open from 9:30am to 4:00pm (Koala Gardens) & 10:00am to 4:00pm (Birdworld) daily. Allow about 30 minutes to enjoy each park.

    Make own way to Kuranda Koala Gardens located in the town of Kuranda on the Atherton Tablelands. This is approximately 25 kilometres from Cairns at the top of the mountain range to the West. Kuranda Koala Gardens is located in the Heritage Markets.
